New women's ward

The new women´s ward and child outpatient department aims to strengthen the health care for women and children at Arba Minch Hospital.
The New Ward has 80 beds, including 20 beds for patients with obstetric fistula. In includes a new delivery ward, two new operation theatres, and outpatient departments for women and children.
The hospital started to use the new delivery ward in March 2008. In December 2008, the new OPD and gynecological ward was opened.
Recently we started to train staff for the Fistula Unit. Two nurses has been trained at the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital.
We plan to start the work at the Fistula Unit in August 2009.
